Hatters Accept Bid to Women’s National Golf Invitational

DeLAND, Fla. — The Stetson women's golf team has accepted a bid to compete in the 2026 Women's National Golf Invitational (NGI), presented in partnership with Golfweek, at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona from May 15-17.

The Hatters will send a lineup of Filippa Jansson, Anna Huettl, freshman Maggie Potash, Bridget Butler, and Elizabeth Eberle to compete in the 54-hole stroke-play tournament.

Often viewed as the golf equivalent of the NIT in college basketball, the postseason event features 10 teams from across the country that narrowly missed NCAA Regional selection. Stetson joins a field that includes Bowling Green, Bradley, Coastal Carolina, Denver, Lipscomb, Mercer, Missouri State, Rutgers, and Wyoming.

The invitation comes following a strong 2025-26 campaign for the Hatters, who finished tied for second at the ASUN Championship after posting the lowest final-round team score of the tournament. Stetson also produced one of the most successful seasons in program history, highlighted by ASUN Golfer of the Year Isaki Sakashita becoming the program's first NCAA Regional individual qualifier under head coach Teresa Brown.

Jansson headlines the NGI lineup after earning All-ASUN Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, while Huettl, Butler, Eberle, and Potash round out a balanced group that helped lead the Hatters throughout the spring season.

Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, a nationally recognized championship course, will serve as the host venue for the three-day tournament.
