TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Stetson sophomore Isaki Sakashita wrapped up play Wednesday at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, finishing tied for 40th overall at 2-over par at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Competing as an individual, Sakashita carded a final-round 74 to close the tournament at 218 over three rounds. The ASUN Golfer of the Year posted matching 37s on the front and back nine during the final round while recording one birdie and 14 pars.
Sakashita became the first golfer under head coach Teresa Brown to qualify for NCAA Regional competition and capped one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history with another strong performance on the national stage.
The sophomore earned ASUN Golfer of the Year honors this season after collecting three tournament victories, two runner-up finishes and eight top-five finishes while leading the Hatters with a 72.71 scoring average.
Meanwhile, the remainder of the Stetson women's golf team will continue postseason play this week at the Women's National Golf Invitational (NGI) in Maricopa, Arizona. The Hatters' lineup for the event includes Filippa Jansson, Anna Huettl, Maggie Potash, Bridget Butler and Elizabeth Eberle.
