Sakashita Selected to NCAA Tallahassee Regional

DeLAND, Fla. — Isaki Sakashita has been selected as an individual to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Tallahassee Regional, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.

Sakashita will represent Stetson at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida, May 11-13, competing among a loaded field seeking a berth in the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The sophomore becomes the first player under head coach Teresa Brown to earn an NCAA Regional selection, adding another milestone to a decorated season.

One of six individuals selected to the Tallahassee Regional, Sakashita joins a field that includes teams such as University of Florida, Florida State University, University of California, Los Angeles, Wake Forest University and fellow ASUN champion University of North Florida.

The low individual not on an advancing team from each of the six regional sites will move on to the NCAA Championships.

Sakashita earned the selection following a standout sophomore campaign in which she was named ASUN Golfer of the Year and collected First Team All-ASUN honors for the second consecutive season. She captured three individual victories, posted two runner-up finishes — including at the ASUN Championship — and recorded eight top-five finishes while leading the Hatters with a 72.71 scoring average.

Her postseason resume was bolstered by a runner-up finish and All-Tournament honors at the ASUN Championship, where she fired a field-best 66 in the second round.

Stetson is coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, highlighted by four team tournament titles and a runner-up finish at the ASUN Championship, with Sakashita now set to continue the Hatters' postseason run on the national stage.
