Sakashita Named ASUN Golfer of the Week for Second Time this Season

DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson women's golf standout Isaki Sakashita has been named ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

Sakashita earns the honor after capturing individual honors at the Magnolia Collegiate Invitational, leading the Hatters to a fourth-place finish in a 14-team field at RTJ Magnolia Grove Golf Course.

The sophomore delivered a consistent three-round performance of 74-73-70 to finish at 1-over-par (217), securing her first individual victory of the season after back-to-back runner-up finishes in Stetson's previous two events. Her final-round 2-under-par 70 was the lowest round recorded by any player in the field, highlighted by steady play on both nines with matching 35s.

Sakashita paced the field with her all-around performance, tying for fourth with nine birdies while also finishing tied for fourth with 36 pars. She entered the final round atop the leaderboard and closed out the victory with the tournament's best round.

The award is Sakashita's first of the season and the third of her career. She joins Filippa Jansson as Hatter representatives to earn weekly honors from the ASUN this season.

Stetson will finish its spring regular season campaign out of the country when they head to Bermuda for the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate hosted by Lehigh at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda.
