Hatters Drop Road Contest at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Stetson (8-16, 4-7 ASUN) fell to Bellarmine University (10-13, 5-6 ASUN) by a score of 92-71 on Thursday night at Knights Hall.

The Hatters opened the game with confidence, knocking down early shots from beyond the arc. Calvin Sirmans III got Stetson on the board with a three-pointer at 19:25, assisted by Jake Johnson, before Ethan Copeland followed with a triple of his own just 38 seconds later to give the Hatters a brief edge. Bellarmine answered with a strong offensive stretch, using efficient shooting to swing momentum. Stetson continued to battle offensively but struggled to slow the Knights' scoring, heading into the break trailing 47–35.

Stetson came out of halftime with renewed energy, as Copeland opened the second half with another three-pointer at 19:31, cutting into the deficit. Sirmans added key free throws and a jumper during the half, while Johnson provided a spark with a three-pointer and a strong drive to the basket. Despite the Hatters' efforts to keep pace, Bellarmine maintained control behind consistent scoring and inside production, pulling away down the stretch to secure the 92–71 victory.
