DELAND, Fla. — Stetson University delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, sweeping Bethune-Cookman 7-0 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Hatters claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts and followed with victories in each of the six singles matches.
Stetson jumped out to an early advantage in doubles, opening with a commanding 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles from
Pilar Astigarraga Harper and
Dana Baidaulet over Zahara El-Zein and Madison Molock.
Clelia Lombardi and
Yuki Mizuguchi followed with a decisive 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles against Taylor O'Neal and Jalayah Shaw.
Anastasija Adeikyte and Katiaryna Tuliakova completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Rosalida Asumwa and Maria Romero Vargas.
In singles play, the Hatters continued their momentum across the lineup. Katiaryna Tuliakova added the first singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Romero Vargas at No. 2 singles. Adeikyte extended the lead with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance against Molock at No. 5, while Lombardi followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over O'Neal at No. 6.
Harper clinched the overall match at No. 1 singles, defeating Shaw 6-1, 6-0. Mizuguchi kept the sweep intact with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Asumwa at No. 4 singles, and
Dana Baidaulet closed the match with a 6-1, 7-6 decision against El-Zein at No. 3.
