Stetson Selected for 2026 Postseason WNIT

DeLAND, Fla. — The Stetson women's basketball team will continue its season in the postseason after being selected for the 2026 Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), tournament officials announced Sunday.

The Hatters earned an at-large bid into the 48-team field following a strong 2025–26 campaign that saw Stetson compile a 20-11 overall record and a 12-6 mark in ASUN Conference play.

The full bracket, including matchups, game locations and start times for the opening round, will be announced Monday.

Now in its 28th year, the Postseason WNIT continues to highlight the depth and competitive excellence across women's college basketball. The tournament, powered by Triple Crown Sports, features a 48-team field comprised of nine automatic qualifiers and 39 at-large selections from conferences across the country.

Stetson is one of three teams from the ASUN Conference selected to the field, joining Austin Peay and Florida Gulf Coast. Stetson will make it's sixth appearance in the tournament as a program, last appearing in 2023-24.

The Hatters enter postseason play following one of their most successful seasons in recent years. Under head coach Bria, Stetson secured the No. 4 seed in the ASUN Championship and earned a first-round bye after finishing tied for third in the conference standings. The Hatters opened the tournament with a quarterfinal victory over FGCU before falling in the semifinal round.

Stetson was powered throughout the season by a balanced and efficient offense, finishing among the top scoring teams in the ASUN. The Hatters were led by All-ASUN selections Mary McMillan, Cameron Thomas and Aleah Sorrentino, each of whom averaged double-figures scoring and ranked top-three in the conference in assists, scoring and rebounding, respectively. Thomas led the team in scoring and was named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team after totaling 33 points and nine rebounds during the conference championship.

The 20-win season marks another milestone for the program under Bria, who earlier this year earned her 300th victory at Stetson and now holds more than 470 career wins.

The Postseason WNIT begins March 19–21 with first-round games played at campus sites. The tournament will continue with second round games March 22–24, followed by the Super 16 (March 25–27), Great 8 (March 28–30), Fab 4 (March 31–April 1), and the championship game on April 4.

More information regarding Stetson's opening round opponent and game details will be announced when the bracket is released Monday.
