Fort Myers, Fla. – Stetson softball continues ASUN play this weekend, traveling to Fort Myers for a series against FGCU beginning Saturday, March 21. The Hatters enter the matchup following a 3–0 opening weekend in conference play, their best start since 2006.
Nicole Edmiaston looks to stay hot at the plate, leading Stetson with a .511 batting average, .577 on-base percentage, and a 1.600 OPS. She has totaled 45 hits, including six doubles and 13 home runs, while driving in 46 RBIs. Edmiaston's standout performance earned her three Player of the Week honors this week from the ASUN, Softball America, and the NFCA.
Amber Chumley has also been a key contributor, batting .372 with five home runs, while
Irianis Garcia ranks second on the team with 32 hits, including three doubles, a triple, and five home runs. Garcia also ranks second nationally in assists and assists per game.
As a team, Stetson is batting .319 with a .402 on-base percentage, totaling 244 hits, 94 walks, and 174 RBIs.

Ava Braswell improved to 10–5 after earning two wins last weekend. She has thrown 83.1 innings with a 2.86 ERA and 36 strikeouts.
Jenna Johnston and
Kennedy Temples have also contributed key innings, combining for over 70 innings pitched with 38 strikeouts while allowing 51 earned runs.
FGCU enters the series at 9–18 overall and 3–0 in ASUN play after sweeping Queens. Olivia Black leads the Eagles with 33 hits, including two doubles and two triples, posting a .363 batting average and a .402 on-base percentage. She is tied for second on the team with 14 RBIs, while Mackenzie Leiti leads FGCU with 16 RBIs and five home runs.
As a team, the Eagles are hitting .276 with a .350 on-base percentage, totaling 195 hits, including 30 doubles, six triples, and 12 home runs, along with 97 RBIs.
In the circle, Grace Taylor leads FGCU with 68.1 innings pitched and a 4.81 ERA. Julia Bacoulis has thrown 48 innings and holds a 5.83 ERA.
This weekend marks the 60th all-time meeting between Stetson and FGCU, with the Hatters winning last season's series 4–2.
