Hatters Defeat Coastal Carolina 4-3

CONWAY, S.C. — Stetson (5-4) defeated Coastal Carolina (7-4) 4-3 on Wednesday at the Stevens Tennis Complex. Stetson secured the victory by winning the doubles point and taking singles matches at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 positions. This victory maintains Stetson's perfect record against Coastal Carolina, bringing their all-time record to 3-0.

Stetson secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Kartik Mandla and Alexandre Verlaguet delivered a 6-2 win on court one against Jack Dixon and Eric Tripathi, while Christian Kuehne and Marc Saura clinched the point with a 6-3 result over Iannis Fernandes and Christopher Norlin at No. 2 doubles. The Chanticleers picked up a win at No. 3 doubles as Rivers Cahill and Juan Cruz Collardin defeated Xavier Sarda Marti and James Lorrenzetti 6-3.

In singles, Coastal Carolina evened the match with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Tripathi defeated Saura 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 singles, and Enzo Garutti followed with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Lorrenzetti on court five. Mihnea Maftei fell to Curzio Manucci 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles, giving the Chanticleers a lead.

The Hatters responded with a straight-set victory from Sarda Marti, who won 6-4, 6-4 over Collardin at No. 3 singles. Verlaguet turned the match around with a three-set win at No. 2 singles, defeating Dixon 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Kuehne then secured the dual match for the Hatters with a come-from-behind victory over Norlin at No. 1 singles, finishing 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.
