Hatters Advance to ASUN Quarterfinals, Set to Face No. 2 Austin Peay

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball continues its run in the ASUN Championship on Friday, Mar. 6, facing No. 2 seed Austin Peay at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena at 5:00 p.m.

Stetson closed the regular season with an 11–20 overall record and a 7–11 mark in ASUN play. The Hatters entered the ASUN Tournament as the No. 10 seed and advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating No. 7 seed Eastern Kentucky 92–76 in the first round.

Collin Kuhl finished the regular season strong, scoring a career-high 31 points against FGCU. He recorded eight double-doubles this season and averaged 13.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting a conference-best 65.7 percent from the field, which ranks fifth nationally. Kuhl also contributed 23 assists, eight blocks, and 28 steals on the year.

Ethan Copeland has provided a steady offensive presence, averaging 14.5 points per game while shooting 42.2 percent from three-point range and leading the team with 46 steals. Copeland has scored in double figures in more than 20 games this season, including seven 20-point performances. Most recently, he scored 23 points against Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the ASUN Tournament, shooting 8-for-14 from the field and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. Nationally, Copeland ranks 10th in total three-point field goals made, 21st in three-pointers per game, 17th in three-point percentage, and 28th in total three-point attempts.

Calvin Sirmans III continues to orchestrate the offense, leading the Hatters with 146 assists, which ranks third in the ASUN. He also recorded two double-doubles this season, including an 11-point, 11-assist performance against Central Arkansas. As a team, Stetson is averaging 74 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 68 percent from the free-throw line.

Austin Peay enters the quarterfinals as the No. 2 seed with a 21–8 overall record and a 15–3 mark in conference play after earning a first-round bye. Collin Parker leads the Governors in scoring at 18.1 points per game while averaging 6.1 rebounds. Rashaud Marshall leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 per game and in blocks with 28 while adding 15.5 points per contest. Zyree Collins rounds out the double-digit scorers, averaging 13.5 points per game while leading the team with 124 assists and 66 steals. As a team, the Governors average 82 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 75 percent from the free-throw line.

Friday's matchup marks the seventh all-time meeting between Stetson and Austin Peay. The Governors won both meetings between the teams earlier this season.
