JACKSONVILLE, FL — Stetson junior right-hander
Trace Hartman has been named ASUN Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. The honor marks the first weekly award for the Hatters this season.
Hartman earned the recognition after delivering a dominant outing in Stetson's 4-1 road victory over No. 6 Arkansas on Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The right-hander turned in one of the top pitching performances of the week, tossing 6.2 innings while allowing just one run on five hits against one of the nation's most potent offenses. Hartman struck out three and earned the win while throwing 101 pitches with 63 strikes, consistently attacking the strike zone with an effective three-pitch mix.
Hartman also limited Arkansas to 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position, helping Stetson secure one of the biggest regular-season wins under Head Coach Steve Trimper.
The victory marked Stetson's first win over Arkansas in program history and one of the program's most significant road upsets in recent seasons.
Hartman improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory and recorded his longest outing of the year.
