DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson women's lacrosse returns to the Athletic Training Center on Wednesday to host Jacksonville in its regular-season finale.
The Hatters enter the matchup with a 3-12 overall record and a 3-4 mark in ASUN play. Kathleen Nichols headlines the offense after earning ASUN Player of the Week honors. She opened the week with a goal and three assists at Kennesaw State before erupting for a career-high seven goals in the win over Austin Peay. Nichols leads the team with 27 goals and has added four assists for 31 points. Lexi Bird paces Stetson in total scoring with 44 points on 22 goals and 22 assists, while Ryley Heilmann ranks second on the team with 24 goals and leads the Hatters with 43 draw controls.
As a team, Stetson has totaled 278 shots, including 198 on goal, while converting 205-of-269 clear attempts. The Hatters have recorded 184 ground balls, 163 draw controls, and 60 caused turnovers. Stetson enters the contest with a .468 shooting percentage, a .781 shots-on-goal percentage, and a .456 free-position percentage.
In goal, Maddie Eckert has anchored the defense with 146 saves on the season, posting a .442 save percentage on 459 shots faced. Harper Hodgett earned the win against Austin Peay and has totaled 37 saves with a .366 save percentage.
Jacksonville comes in at 10-5 overall and 6-1 in ASUN play, most recently earning a 14-3 victory over Lindenwood. Maeve Brennan leads the Dolphins with 64 points on 43 goals and 21 assists, along with a .816 shots-on-goal percentage. Shae Hagans has contributed 34 goals and 12 assists, while Jessica Giller and Ainsley Scruggs have each added 29 goals.
As a team, Jacksonville has scored 214 goals on 440 shots, including 286 on target, for a .486 shooting percentage and a .770 shots-on-goal percentage. The Dolphins have also tallied 236 ground balls, 234 draw controls, and 130 caused turnovers. In goal, Brookelynn Hodgin has logged the majority of minutes, recording 65 saves and a .394 save percentage.
Wednesday's contest marks the 16th meeting between the two programs.
