DeLand, Fla. — The ASUN Conference announced its postseason women's lacrosse awards Monday morning, with Stetson earning multiple honors highlighted by two selections to the All-Freshman Team and six student-athletes named to the All-Academic Team.
Ryley Heilmann and Mickey Thomas were both named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team after standout debut seasons for the Hatters. Heilmann made an immediate offensive impact, totaling 25 goals and seven assists for 32 points through 16 games. She recorded 56 shots with an impressive .45 shooting percentage, placing 46 on goal for an .82 shots-on-goal percentage. Heilmann also converted four free-position opportunities, including a clutch game-tying goal against Liberty that forced overtime. In addition to her scoring, she collected 11 ground balls and led the team with 44 draw controls. Heilmann posted five hat tricks on the season, coming against Florida, Boston University, Charlotte, Kennesaw State, and Lindenwood.
Thomas also made her presence felt in her freshman campaign, appearing in 14 games with four starts. She ranked second on the team with 34 draw controls, including a career-high 11 against Austin Peay. Thomas was especially effective in conference play, recording 27 of her 34 draw controls against ASUN opponents.
Stetson also placed six student-athletes on the ASUN All-Academic Team, highlighting the program's success both on the field and in the classroom.
Sydney Jenkins, a finance major, anchored the Hatters' defense, starting all 16 games while consistently matching up against opponents' top offensive threats. She recorded eight ground balls, seven caused turnovers, and a draw control, serving as a steady presence on the defensive end.
Anya Lucia Phillips, a health sciences major, started all 13 games in which she appeared and contributed across the stat sheet with two goals and two assists. She added nine ground balls, 31 draw controls, and eight caused turnovers, showcasing her versatility on both ends of the field.
Maya Sellinger, also a health sciences major, started all 16 games and tallied four goals and two assists. She contributed 15 ground balls, nine draw controls, and four caused turnovers, providing consistent production throughout the season.
Lexi Bird, a psychology major, led the Hatters offensively, pacing the team with 22 goals, 23 assists, and 45 points. She shot .431 from the field and placed 37 shots on goal for an .725 shots-on-goal percentage. Bird scored in 14 games this season, highlighted by hat tricks against Mercer and Delaware, and a six-point performance (one goal, five assists) in Stetson's first-ever win over Liberty.
Kathleen Nichols, a business administration major, led the team in goals with 30 while adding five assists for 35 points. She posted a .638 shooting percentage and an .830 shots-on-goal percentage, and delivered a career-high seven goals against Ausin Peay. Nichols was 6-7 on free position shots and recorded back-to-back hat tricks against Queens and Lindenwood.
Heidi Cross, a marketing major, appeared in all 16 games and recorded a career-high 12 goals along with three assists for 15 points. She placed 23 of her 32 shots on goal (.719) and contributed 13 ground balls, a draw control, and five caused turnovers.
Stetson's recognition across both competitive and academic awards highlights the program's commitment to excellence on and off the field. The Hatters posted a 3–5 conference record, punctuated by the program's first-ever wins over Liberty and Coastal Carolina, signaling continued growth and a strong foundation moving forward.
