No. 2 Seed Hatters Head to Jacksonville for ASUN Tournament

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson softball heads to Jacksonville this week for the ASUN Championship after finishing the regular season with a 33–20 overall record and an 18–6 mark in conference play. The Hatters captured the ASUN Graphite Division title to earn the tournament's No. 2 seed and a double bye. Stetson will open postseason play against No. 7 seed North Florida on Thursday, May 7 at UNF Softball Complex in Jacksonville with first pitch scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

The Hatters continue to receive national recognition, checking in at No. 14 in the Softball America Mid-Major Rankings and No. 17 in the D1 Softball Mid-Major Poll.

Earlier this week, the ASUN announced its postseason honors, with Stetson earning several major awards. Nicole Edmiaston was named both ASUN Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, while head coach Shellie Cousins earned ASUN Coach of the Year honors. Irianis Garcia and Logan Forman were both selected to the All-ASUN Second Team, and Gaby Bauer earned a spot on the ASUN All-Freshman Team.

Edmiaston continues to lead the Hatters offensively, batting .457 with a .563 on-base percentage and a 1.503 OPS. She has totaled 69 hits, including seven doubles and 22 home runs, while driving in 67 RBIs and drawing 36 walks. Edmiaston also set Stetson single-season records for home runs, RBIs, and total bases.

Garcia remains one of the conference's top all-around players, hitting .380 with a .468 on-base percentage and a 1.123 OPS. She ranks second on the team with 65 hits, including 12 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs, while continuing to shine defensively as the nation's leader in assists.

Amber Chumley is batting .318 with five home runs and 27 RBIs, while Gabby David and Logan Forman continue to provide depth throughout the lineup. David is hitting .339 with 41 hits, including five home runs and 29 RBIs, while Forman ranks second on the team with 15 home runs and 42 RBIs.

As a team, Stetson is batting .314 with a .412 on-base percentage, totaling 444 hits, including 72 doubles and a program-record 76 home runs, along with 201 walks and 311 RBIs.

In the circle, Ava Braswell leads the staff with a 17–10 record and a 3.03 ERA across 143.1 innings pitched, while Hayley Arnold has posted a 3.89 ERA over 81.0 innings of work.

North Florida enters the matchup with a 38–20 overall record and an 11–13 mark in ASUN play. The seventh-seeded Ospreys opened tournament play with wins over No. 6 seed Eastern Kentucky and No. 3 seed North Alabama to advance to the quarterfinals.

Hallie Langford leads North Florida offensively with 69 hits while batting .386 with a .433 on-base percentage and 29 RBIs. Bella Cimino provides the power in the lineup with a team-high 14 home runs to go along with six doubles and 54 RBIs.

As a team, the Ospreys are batting .307 with a .395 on-base percentage, totaling 450 hits, including 74 doubles, 15 triples, and 37 home runs, while driving in 280 RBIs.

In the circle, Cameron Ponich leads North Florida with a 15–4 record and a 1.70 ERA across 107.0 innings pitched, along with 77 strikeouts and a 1.01 WHIP.

Friday's matchup marks the 78th all-time meeting between the two programs. Stetson won the regular season series 4–2 against the Ospreys earlier this year.
