DELAND, Fla. — Stetson kicker Paul DeSousa was named the Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Hatters' 45-10 victory over Webber International on Saturday at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.
DeSousa highlighted his afternoon with a 49-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first half, extending Stetson's lead to 24-0 heading into the break. He also handled extra-point duties as the Hatters piled up 45 points in their 2026 home opener.
The honor comes after Stetson turned in a dominant all-around performance against the Warriors, totaling 500 yards of offense while holding Webber International to just 185 total yards.
DeSousa and the Hatters return to action Saturday, Sept. 12, when Stetson travels to Daytona Beach to face Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m.
