Former NCSVA national champion Jordon Dyer begins his second season at Stetson University.
Dyer comes to Stetson from Long Beach State University, where served as a volunteer assistant coach for two seasons. In 2015, Dyer helped lead the 49ers to a No. 2 national ranking and the finals of the AVCA Collegiate Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. In 2016, Long Beach State advanced to the finals of the Big West Conference championship and finished the season ranked ninth in the nation, just one spot below Stetson. He coached four players that earned first team all-conference honors during his two seasons.
A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Dyer has 13 years of competitive beach playing experience.Â
In 2009, he represented Team USA in the FIVB Youth World Championship in Alanya, Turkey. He then competed for four years on the U19, U21, and U23 USAV Men’s National Training team, taking the bronze medal in 2011 at the U21 beach national championships.
In 2013, Dyer and his partner Dillan Bennett captured the National Collegiate Sand Volleyball Association men’s double title in Long Beach, Calif. He later earned a AAA rating from the California Beach Volleyball Association (CVBA) in 2014 after winning the Santa Barbara Men’s AA Tournament.
As a coach, Dyer spent time at the USAV developmental sand camps for U19 girls at the Olympic Training Center. Â In the indoor ranks, Dyer coached for the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club, Bay Volleyball Club, and Club WAVE.
Dyer played indoor volleyball at Santa Barbara City College where he earned all-conference honors with the Vaqueros. He was also a two-time silver medalist and all-tournament team selection for the AA division at the USAV Adult Nationals in 2014 and 2016.
Dyer earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Long Beach State University in 2015.
