Stetson University first baseman Patrick Mazeika completed a post-season trifecta on Monday when he was named to the Baseball America Freshman All-America team.
Mazeika was previously named to the Louisville Slugger and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American teams.
The Baseball America team was led by Freshman of the Year Alex Bregman, a shortstop for Louisiana State. Bregman also won Southeastern Conference freshman of the year honors and was named a Baseball America first-team All-American.
North Carolina leads all teams with three players on the Baseball American team, all on the first team. Cal State Fullerton placed two players on the first team.
The teams were selected by the staff of Baseball America.
Mazeika, who was named the A-Sun Freshman of the Year in addition to being the first team All-Conference selection at first base, was named to the first team. He finished his first season at Stetson with a .382 average to go with three homers, 11 doubles and 33 RBI.
