Stetson Shuts Out McNeese State 1-0

DeLand, Fla. --?After more than five hours of lightning delays, sophomore Sarah Stock (DeLand, Fla.) helped Stetson women's soccer to a 1-0 win against McNeese State?Sunday night at the Stetson Soccer Field with the evening's only goal.?

Stock?connected with a header into the right side after a corner kick at 15:57 from fellow sophomore Julianne Turnbull (DeLand, Fla.). The goal was Stock's first of the season while Turnbull picked up her first career assist.

Junior April Eilering (Troy, Ill.) notched her first shutout of the season, 14th of her career, while grabbing three saves in 90 minutes in goal for the Hatters (2-0). Aubrey Ross allowed one goal in 90 minutes for the loss in goal for the Cowgirls (0-2).

McNeese State outshot Stetson 7-3, including 3-1 in shots on goal.

The Hatters are in action again Wednesday when they face Miami on the road at 7 p.m.
