Gardner-Webb hosted the 2006 Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships, with Belmont taking their fourth straight men's title and also claiming the women's championship. Stetson's men placed 9th, while the women came in at #10.
Campbell's Alicia Valtin was the top finisher in the women's 5K with a time of 17:58. She topped Belmont's Lauren Williams by 44 seconds for the individual title. Belmont's Colin Magut edged out teammate Ryan Snellen by a mere two second to come away with the men's title.
Kimberly Lyle was the top finisher for Stetson, coming in 28th in the women's race. Her time of 20:34 led six other runners.
Brian Heisler again paced the men. He finished 51st in the men's 8K with a time of 30:19. That bested four other Hatters.
