Hatters Post Strong Showing at Florida State Cross Country Invitational

TALLAHASSEE – The Stetson cross country team continued their 2025 campaign this past Friday at the Florida State Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Florida State at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. The race consisted of several different regionally ranked opponents in both the men's and women's races.

In the men's 8K, Stetson finished 10th out of 34, beating in-state rivals USF, FAU, and FIU. Redshirt sophomore Michael Petrovic led the squad with a 68th-place finish in a time of 26:24.8. Freshman Kenan Willard finished close behind, moving up 39 spots in the final four kilometers to place 72nd with a time of 26:26.3. Junior Seth Singer followed in 83rd at 26:39. The next four Hatters all finished within 30 seconds of each other: senior Eduardo Diaz (102nd, 26:52), freshman Jonathan Pena (108th, 26:55), completing the five scorers; sophomore Zeke Galbraith (125th, 27:13); and freshman Braden Motycka (133rd, 27:18), wrapping up the Hatters' runners for the day.

On the women's side, the Hatters finished 18th out of 36. Freshman Hannah Judge once again led the Hatters with an impressive 30th-place finish in a time of 22:15 for the 6K. Senior Deanna Bottino came through in a time of 23:17, good for 94th. Freshman Kendall Wampler (123rd, 23:40.6), sophomore Madison Kerr Wong (149th, 24:13), and freshman Avery Sommers (24:57.1) completed the Hatters' scoring five. Senior Sofia Azzollini (205th, 25:16.1) and freshman Kylie Summerlin (259th, 26:23) also competed in the race.

The Hatters will continue their season next Saturday, October 4, at the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
