The Stetson women's soccer team advanced to Saturday's Atlantic Sun Tournmant Final thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Gardner-Webb. The second-seeded Hatters scored twice in the second half to down the sixth-seeded Bulldogs and will face #5 Jacksonville, who shocked the top seed - and host school - Kennesaw State 2-1.
Senior Kelly Kuenning scored both second-half goals to lift the Hatters past Gardner-Webb. Her first came on a 25-yard blast that found the upper right-hand corner of the net at the 63:06 mark. She then put the finishing touches on the win with another goal in the final minute, assisted by Sarah Stock.
The Hatters improved to 12-7-1 on the year to match a team-record for wins.
Goalkeeper April Eilering recorded her 9th shutout of the season to match the single-season record she set as a freshman in 2003.
The Hatters will play Jacksonville at 7:30 PM Saturday night in Kennesaw. Steton defeated JU 2-1 in Jacksonville on October 21 to end the conference regular season.
