Despite wins in the #1 and #2 singles competitions, the Hatters lost their conference opener, 5-2 Thursday afternoon at North Florida.  The Ospreys remained unbeaten overall and improved to 2-0 in the conference.

UNF took two of the three matches to earn the doubles point.  Katherine St. Clair and Katherine Nowicki got past Vanessa Sanchez and Danielle Desmarais, 8-5 for Stetson's win in the doubles competition. It was St. Clair's first doubles appearance this year and Nowicki's first doubles win.

Valentina Galbarina and Breanna Atkinson then each won three-set matches in the #1 and #2 singles competitions.  North Florida rebounded on their home courts to sweep the final four matches and remain undefeated. 

Stetson fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the A-Sun.  The Hatters will next face #33 South Florida Saturday morning in Tampa.
