(DeLand, Fla.) ? The Stetson women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over Lipsomb Tuesday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. Katherine Nowicki lost just one game in her #3 singles match and also posted a win in #1 doubles to lead the Hatter victory.
“It was a good team effort today,” head coach Sasha Schmid said. “Katherine Nowicki played especially well today in singles and doubles and it was great to Samantha back in the lineup for a good singles win.”
Stetson improves to 4-2 in the A-Sun Conference and 6-9 overall. Lipscomb falls to 0-3 and 2-7.
Samantha Lange posted a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Casey Hall in the #5 singles competition. Valentina Galbarina ran her season record to 9-5 with a straight sets win in the #1 singles match. Breanna Atkinson and Katherine St. Clair improved their doubles record to 6-3 with an 8-2 decision.
The Hatters remain at home and host Memphis Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
