(Miami, Fla.) ? The Stetson women's tennis team ran into nationally ranked Florida International Saturday afternoon in Miami. The #25 FIU team snapped the Hatters five-match winning streak with a 7-0 decision.
The nation's 123rd ranked singles player, Paula Zabala, set the tone by taking out Stetson's Valentina Galbarini 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 competition.
Catherine Canady came the closest to an upset, falling 6-4 in the first set and 7-6 in the second to Maria Dolores Pazo.
Stetson returns home for a Friday afternoon match with UCF, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
