Nashville, Tenn. ? It was a frustrating night for the Hatters in Nashville as Lipscomb came out on top 2-0 in an Atlantic Sun Conference tilt. A pair of yellow cards and a red card did not help the Stetson cause.
Lipscomb opened up the scoring with a goal at 19:13 of the first half. The opening tally came on a penalty kick by Miguel DaSilva. The opportunity was awarded to the Bisons after Stetson goalkeeper Marc Galizia (Brandenton, Fla.) was penalized and given a yellow card.
At 43:13 Stetson's Robert Hodge (Devon, England) was flagged with a red card forcing the Hatters to play short-handed for the remainder of the game. Richard Porteous (Austin, Texas) picked up the team's second yellow card early in the second half at 46:30.
Lipscomb struck again at 73:53 of the second with a back-breaking goal by Angel Chairez. An assist went to DaSilva on the play.
Lipscomb finished the game with a 28-11 advantage in shots, 10-7 in shots on goal.
Freshman forward Gonzalo deMujica (Weston, Fla.) led the Hatters offensively with three shots and two shots on goal. Kirk Labusch (Brandon, Fla.) and Set Carpintero (Orlando, Fla.) each had two shots.
Galizia faced nine shots on goal and made seven saves on the night.
The Nashville trip continues Sunday with a 3:00 p.m. game versus Belmont.
