Orlando, Fla. ? The Stetson women's tennis team fell to 13-10 on the season with a 6-1 loss in its regular season finale at UCF on Friday.  Senior Anna Leonenko (Calgary, Alta.) provided the Hatters with their only point of the match.

Leonenko picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win over Anna Yakimchenkova at #5 singles as four of her teammates were defeated in straight sets by the Knights.  Sophomore Valentina Galbarini (Montevideo, Uruguay) won the first set of her match at the #1 position against Jenny Frisell but retired trailing 6-5 in the second set.

Sophomores Breanna Atkinson (Bradenton, Fla.) and Katherine Nowicki (Jacksonville, Fla.) came the closest of the three Stetson duos to recording a doubles win but ultimately lost an 8-7 heartbreaker to Jennifer Carati and Elvira Serrot.

The Hatters now turn their attention to the Atlantic Sun conference tournament, the winner of which will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA championships.  Stetson will be the #3 seed in the eight-team field and opens with sixth-seeded Gardner-Webb in the quarterfinals Friday, April 18.  The Hatters beat the Runnin' Bulldogs 6-1 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on February 28.
