JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.. - Second-seeded ETSU ran past Stetson Saturday evening and into the championship round for the third consecutive season with a 4-0 victory at the Bristol Racquet Club.
After an afternoon rain shower forced play indoors, the Lady Bucs quickly claimed the doubles point with Yevgeniya Stupak/Olya Batsula posting an 8-3 win, and Elena Volobueva/Whitney Trotter notching an 8-1 triumph.
Stupak and Batsula contributed again in singles action; each adding straight set victories to their evening tally. Junior Tara Byrne provided the final margin with her 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
The Lady Bucs will face off with top-seeded Jacksonville for the second straight year Saturday afternoon for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
