DeLand, Fla. ? Four Hatters won both singles and doubles matches as the Stetson women's tennis team (9-5, 4-1 Atlantic Sun) stayed hot in conference action with a 7-0 sweep of visiting Lipscomb (6-11, 0-6 A-Sun) Saturday morning at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
All six Hatters won their singles matches in straight sets with junior Valentina Galbarini (Montevideo, Uruguay) and junior Daniella Palmiotto (Boca Raton, Fla.) recording perfect 6-0 set victories. Junior Katherine Nowicki (Jacksonville, Fla.) was tested the most, defeating Danielle Hansen 6-2, 7-6 (4) at #4 singles.
Earlier in the proceedings, Nowicki teamed with junior Breanna Atkinson (Bradenton, Fla.) to blank Hansen and Olivia Ellis 8-0 at #2 doubles. Stetson swept the other two matches in 8-2 and 8-4 fashion as well to earn the doubles point.
Stetson is back in action Friday morning on the road at A-Sun foe Kennesaw State; the match begins at 10 a.m. and is the opening act of a Hatter-Owl tennis doubleheader with the men's match to follow at 2 p.m.
