DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson women's tennis team improved to 5-0 on the season with a dominating 7-0 win over visiting Bethune-Cookman (0-6) at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Saturday.  All six Hatters that participated were double winners; all six singles matches ended in straight sets with three different Hatter freshmen earning perfect 6-0, 6-0 singles wins.

Freshmen Susana Aguirre (Guayaquil, Ecuador), Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.) and Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas) each blanked their Wildcat singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 playing on Courts 6, 4 and 3 respectively.  Sophomore Jen Miller (Tampa, Fla.) won 6-0, 6-1 at #5 singles with freshman MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell (Asheville, N.C.) and junior Shannon Gunning (Boca Raton, Fla.) grabbing straight-set singles wins as well.

All three Hatter doubles combinations won as well with Aguirre and Miller teaming up for a shutout 8-0 win on Court 3; the other victorious Stetson teams were Stauffer-MacDowell/Sullivan (Court 1) and Cable/Gunning (Court 2).

The Hatters are off until next Saturday, Feb. 26 when they open Atlantic Sun Conference action at 2 p.m. against FGCU at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  The FGCU-Stetson men's tennis match will precede that, starting at 10 a.m.  Live Stats will be available for all home tennis matches this season at GoHatters.com.
