Adam Pegg was named College Sports Madness Atlantic Sun Conference Player of
the Week for his performances against ETSU and USC Upstate, as announced by the
online publication on Monday.
Pegg led the Hatters in scoring during both the win at ETSU
and the victory at USC Upstate. The
center totaled 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting in a 72-70 win over the Bucs, and
poured in a season-high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 66-64 victory
against the Spartans to move Stetson into a tie for first place in the A-Sun
with a record of 4-2.
The senior scored in double figures for the 11th
and 12th straight games, now giving Pegg double digit points in 15
out of 16 contests played this season.
For the week, he averaged 21 points on nearly 70 percent shooting (18-of-26),
80 percent shooting from beyond the arc (4-of-5), and a perfect 2-of-2 from the
free throw line.
During A-Sun action, Pegg is third in the league with an average
of 18.0 points per game, while shooting 57 percent from the floor and 54
percent from three-point range. Pegg and
the Hatters continue league play at home this weekend with games against
Northern Kentucky on Thursday and Lipscomb on ESPN3 on Saturday.
