HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
- The Stetson men's basketball team (11-14, 8-6), fresh off of an Atlantic
Sun Tournament berth clinching victory over Lipscomb on Thursday, returns to
action on Saturday with a road contest at Northern Kentucky (8-13, 6-7). The Hatters and the Norse are scheduled to
tipoff at 7:00 p.m. from the Bank of Kentucky Center.
Stetson overcame an 11-point deficit en route to its 76-66
victory over Lipscomb on Thursday. The
Hatters scored 50 points in the second half to remain in third place in the
A-Sun standings. Senior Adam Pegg led
the way, scoring 23 points and grabbing 12 rebounds for his fourth
double-double of the season.
"You want to follow up an impressive performance, and a
rally, a time that our team came together, and continue that," Stetson head
coach Casey Alexander said of using Thursday's win as momentum for Saturday's
contest at NKU.
The Norse, who Stetson defeated 71-59 earlier this season in
DeLand, have lost their last two games.
NKU fell to Lipscomb on the road last weekend, and dropped a home tilt
to Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday.
"I have a lot of respect for what they've done," Alexander
said. "The four-game win streak that they had prior to their loss against
Lipscomb was impressive. Like most teams, they play better at home, so I
totally anticipate that they'll be ready to play. I know we have a huge challenge
on our hands."
Saturday's game in Highland Heights will be available to
watch on HatterVision and ASun.TV courtesy of Northern Kentucky Athletics. Fans can also listen to the game on WSBB 1230
