NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The
Stetson women's tennis team (4-4) defeated Cal State Northridge by a score of 4-3
on Friday afternoon in Northridge, California, snapping a three-match losing
streak.
Unlike last match, the Hatters found themselves in an early
hole after losing the doubles point.
Senior Sara Lazarevic and freshman Andrea Crespo were defeated by Anna
Yang and Sabrina Man-Son-Hing 8-5. Senior Jen Miller and junior Diana Bukajeva
were victorious in their match, defeating Jessica Warren and Corrine Schnyder
8-1, giving Stetson a shot at the first point.
However, junior Lindsey Cable and Eveline Lepinay fell to
Maria Pisatalu and Lorraine Cheung by a score of 8-5. It marked the duo's first
doubles loss of the season, giving the Matadors a 1-0 lead.
In singles, Stetson picked up four wins to earn the victory. Miller defeated Warren 6-1, 6-3 at the number five position. Crespo
defeated Yang 6-3, 6-1 and at number three singles, Bukajeva defeated
Man-Son-Hing 6-3, 6-2.
Lazarevic was defeated by Pistalu 6-1, 7-6 (3), but at
number six singles, Lepinay defeated Alexis Marquez 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 to give
Stetson the win. Senior Clarke Tatje fell to Cheung by a score of 6-3, 6-4 in
the final match of the day.
The ladies return to action on Tuesday, when they take on
Cleveland State. The match is part of a doubleheader with the men's team, and
is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

remains undefeated in singles and owns a 12 match winning streak, dating back
to last season... Stetson finishes 1-1 on their first road trip of the season.
