For the second time this season, Stetson University outside hitter McKenna Foster (Ocala, Fla./Vanguard HS) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Foster averaged 3.44 kills and 1.33 digs per set to help lead Stetson to a pair of road wins over the weekend. She recorded 16 kills and hit .382 in Friday's 3-1 win at Kennesaw State. She then led the team with 15 kills and four aces in Saturday's 3-2 win vs. USC Upstate.
It was Stetson's first road sweep of back-to-back A-Sun matches since 2000.
For the season, Foster is averaging 3.2 kills, 1.8 digs, and 0.36 aces-per-set. She ranks seventh in the league in kills-per-set and fourth in aces-per-set.
The Hatters have now been selected three times for A-Sun Freshman of the Week awards this season. Foster was also the league's first weekly winner on Sept. 2, and Jessica Armstrong was honored last week.
Winners of four in a row and seven out of eight, Stetson (12-6, 4-1 A-Sun) will host Northern Kentucky at 7 p.m. Friday night.
