DeLand, Fla. — The Stetson University women's volleyball team returns home for the first time in more than a month this weekend when it hosts a pair of ASUN Conference matchups at the Insight Credit Union Arena at the Edmunds Center. The Hatters will host Queens University of Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6:00 p.m., before welcoming West Georgia on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1:00 p.m. Stetson looks to bounce back and build momentum in league play after a hard-fought five-set battle earlier this week against FGCU.
Zuzanna Bury has been the driving force of the Hatters' attack, 192 kills averaging 3.69 kills per set while tallying 117 digs and 22 blocks. Senior setter
Nyah Molina has continued to be Stetson's all-around leader, dishing out 462 assists (8.25 per set, third in the ASUN) while also tallying 210 digs (3.75 per set, seventh in the league). At the net,
Kayla Balfour anchors the defense with 58 total blocks (1.05 per set), helping the Hatters rank among the conference's top blocking teams.
Queens Royals
The Royals enter their matchup with Stetson at 10–5 overall, 1–1 in ASUN play. They earned their first conference victory with a 3–1 win over North Florida. Queens averages 13.46 kills per set, second-best in the conference, while also collecting over 16 digs per set defensively. Callie DeSchryver leads the attack with 147 kills followed by Emma Norris with 133 and Elizabeth Layson with 125. In the middle, Norris provides presence at the net with 59 blocks to lead the team.
West Georgia Wolves
The Wolves come in at 2–13 overall and 0–2 in ASUN play, most recently falling in straight sets at Jacksonville. Valiree Schmus leads the team offensively racking up 138 kills as Grace-Blythe Cornett is the other player to collect over 100 kills with 101. Olivia Kremer holds down the back line with 169 digs while Sanai Young and Alex Strating have a presence at the net each tallying at least 40 blocks.
