Fresh off their best regular season in the last six years, Stetson Women's Soccer faces a new challenge when the fifth-seeded Hatters open Atlantic Sun Conference tournament play with a quarterfinal match up at fourth-seeded Kennesaw State, 2 p.m., Friday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
The Hatters (9-7-1 overall) are playing in their 12th A-Sun Championship, but just their second in the last five years. Stetson finished the regular-season with a 3-3-1 conference record, and the Hatters' nine victories are the most since 2009.
Stetson's lone tie came against Kennesaw State on Oct. 9. The Hatters fell into an early 2-0 hole before rallying with a pair of goals in the final moments of regulation to earn a 2-2 result.
The Hatters are 4-10-2 all-time in conference tournament play. Stetson's last victory was a 1-0 win over North Florida in 2010.
Friday's match will be carried live on ESPN3 and is available on the Watch ESPN app. Live stats will also be available and fans can follow @StetsonWSoccer for in-game updates.
The A-Sun Tournament will continue next weekend in Fort Myers, Fla. The semifinals are set for Friday, Nov. 6, with the final on Sunday, Nov. 8.
