DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson sand volleyball team cruised to a 5-0 victory over visiting Georgia Tech Sunday morning at the Stetson sand volleyball courts.
The Hatters won in straight sets at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 seeds, and won 2-1 at the No. 5 seed. The win improved Stetson's record to 5-1 on the season.
In the afternoon, Stetson claimed all three mini pairs tournaments.
On court one, Kaylee Anderson and Madison Akins defeated Webber's No. 2 seed 2-0 in the semifinal before outlasting Webber's No. 1 seed 2-1 in the final. Akins put down a game-winning block as the Hatters took the third set 15-5.
On court two, Julie Bassett and Kaley Melville rolled to a 2-0 win over Georgia Tech's No. 2 seed in the semifinal, and they captured another 2-0 win over Webber's No. 3 seed in the final.
On court three, Stetson participated in both semifinal matches. Kristin Lind and Maren Rygh defeated Webber's No. 4 seed 2-0, while Savannah Byl and Holly Reschke defeated Georgia Tech's No. 1 seed 2-1.
In the court three championship, Lind and Rygh claimed a 2-0 (21-15, 21-14) victory over Byl and Reschke.
The Hatters will return to action at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon vs. Eckerd. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday but has since been moved to Tuesday.
