Jacksonville, Fla. -- The ninth-ranked Stetson sand volleyball team swept a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches at Jacksonville University Wednesday afternoon to remain undefeated in league play.

The Hatters defeated the Dolphins by identical 5-0 scores to improve to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in conference action.

"Overall, it was a great team effort from all our seeds," Stetson head coach Kristina Hernandez said.  "I felt like our bottom seeds really started the day off well for us.  Everybody was really aggressive today.  I thought all of our pairs made adjustments quickly and really stayed in control of all the matches."

Stetson won 20 of the 23 sets played, including all three matches that went to a decisive third set.

The Hatters' No. 4 and No. 5 seeds each went a perfect 2-0 on the day, including the No. 4 pairing of Kaylee Anderson and Madison Akins, who won their second match in dominating fashion by scores of 21-11 and 21-5.

The No. 2 seed of Kristin Lind and Maren Rygh as well as the No. 3 seed of Savannah Byl and Holly Reschke both improved their dual match records to 12-0 on the season.

The Hatters have now outscored their opponents 43-2 during the team's current nine-game winning streak.  

Stetson will return to action on Saturday and Sunday at the CofC Sand Classic.  The Hatters will face Carson Newman and Tulane on Saturday, and Georgia State and the College of Charleston on Sunday.

Notes: In the last 95 sets played, the Hatters are 86-9 ... Stetson is 7-4 in third sets on the season.
