Gainesville, Fla. -- The Stetson men's cross country team finished ninth out of 11 teams and the women finished 11th out of 13 teams Saturday morning at the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course.

Junior Joe Beery led the Hatter men in the 8K race and finished in 39th place overall with a time of 27:18.08.  Also for Stetson, Brendan Hessler finished 55th with a time of 28:27.02, Andrew Townes finished 57th with a time of 28:34.90, Matthew Babikow finished 61st with a time of 28:54.45, Ryan Hodgins finished 71st with a time of 30:00.79, Ricky Cupoli finished 72nd with a time of 30:08.18, Austyn Finnk finished 76th with a time of 31:15.35, and Ryan Newfrock finished 77th with a time of 31:44.76.

Senior Adrienne DeVita led the Hatter women in the 5K event and finished 49th overall with a time of 19:24.24.  Also for Stetson, Rachel Dumas finished 55th with a time of 19:31.92, Rachel Frankenberger finished 57th with a time of 19:32.57, Brianne Boldrin finished 70th with a time of 20:01:52, Jessica Cosgrove finished 76th with a time of 20:09.09, Clarissa Consol finished 92nd with a time of 20:41.08, Laurie Scott finished 94th with a time of 20:41.69, Catherine Hessler finished 99th with a time of 20:54.23, and Malina Morales finished 110th with a time of 21:12.40. 

The Hatters will compete at the FLRunners.com Invitational next Friday afternoon in Titusville, Fla.
