Hatters Return to Action Friday at FGCU

After a nearly two-week layoff, Stetson men's soccer returns to action on Friday when the Hatters visit No. 12-ranked FGCU in an Atlantic Sun Conference showdown, 7 p.m., in Fort Myers.
 
Stetson (3-6-2 overall, 1-2-0 ASUN) last played on Oct. 1 when the Hatters suffered a 1-0 loss at conference foe NJIT. Friday's contest begins a stretch of three games in eight days for the Hatters.
 
Luke Ferreira continues to lead the Hatters offensively with four goals and three assists. Despite not playing in almost two weeks, senior goalkeeper Paul Ladwig still leads the ASUN with 63 saves.
 
The Eagles (9-2-1, 1-0-0) currently own the nation's longest winning streak at nine matches following Tuesday's 3-2 win over USF. The Eagles also lead the nation in scoring with 3.17 goals per game and 38 total goals.

Series Info
Friday's match will be the 10th meeting between Stetson and FGCU. The Eagles own a 5-4-0 lead in the series. Stetson's last win over the Eagles was a 2-1 victory in 2013.
 
News & Notes
Following Friday's match, the Hatters close the regular season with three consecutive home games. Stetson welcomes UCF (Oct. 18), North Florida (Oct. 22) and Jacksonville (Oct.29) to the Athletic Training Center over the season's final two weeks.
