Hatters Open Play in Savannah Invitational Sunday at East Carolina

Stetson opens play in the Savannah Invitational when the Hatters visit East Carolina, 1 p.m., Sunday in Greenville, N.C. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

As part of the Savannah Invitational, Stetson (2-1) will also visit Air Force on Tuesday before facing Radford (Nov. 25) and Florida A&M (Nov. 26) in Savannah. Other tournament teams include Akron, Mercer and Georgia Southern.
 
The Hatters are looking to rebound from a disappointing setback on Friday when they lost a 116-112 thriller to The Citadel. The Hatters scored their most points in nearly 25 years but suffered their first home loss of the season. Six Hatters scored in double figures, led by Derick Newton's 23.
 
East Carolina (2-1) dropped a 76-64 decision at Charlotte on Thursday. B.J., Tyson and Raquan Wilson led the Pirates with 12 points each.
 
News & Notes
•Stetson and East Carolina are meeting for just the fourth time, but for the second straight season. The Hatters and Pirates faced each other last November at the Las Vegas Invitational, with ECU taking a 93-73 decision.
•This is the first of two games for Stetson against the American Athletic Conference this season. Stetson faces fellow AAC school and longtime rival UCF on Nov. 30 in Orlando. The Hatters are 27-60 all-time against current AAC schools.
•The Hatters are currently leading the ASUN in scoring at 90.7 points per game, and are also first in field-goal percentage (.520), assists per game (20.0) & fewest turnovers (12.7).
