Hatters Set for ASUN Semifinals on Friday

Stetson women's soccer looks to take another step toward its first Atlantic Sun Conference championship when the Hatters face Lipscomb in the ASUN Tournament semifinals, 4 p.m., Friday at the FGCU Soccer Complex in Fort Myers. The game can be seen on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.

The winner of Friday's match will advance to Sunday's championship game against either FGCU or Kennesaw State, who meet in the other semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m. The championship game will kick off at 1 p.m.

Stetson (9-6-2) is in the semifinals for the second straight year following a 5-2 win over North Florida last Saturday in DeLand. Sarah Collins scored a pair of goals to become Stetson's single-season leader in goals (13) and points (32), and the Hatters got second half goals from Briana Camargo, Lily Ammon and Hailey Williams to seal the win.

Lipscomb (11-4-2) is the No. 2 seed for the tournament and received a 'bye' into the semifinals. The Bisons' only conference loss was a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Hatters on Oct. 7. Collins and Lindsey Parent each scored a goal for Stetson in that victory.

Stetson and Lipscomb have never met in the postseason. Should the Hatters win, they'll advance to the finals for the first time since 2006.

Stetson is 8-1-1 with Emily Plotz in goal this season, including a combined 6-1-0 against ASUN opponents ... the freshman keeper is on pace to become just the second player in program history to record a sub-1.00 goals-against average ... Stetson is 7-0-1 when scoring two or more goals ... the five goals Stetson scored against UNF last Saturday are the most for the Hatters against an ASUN opponent since getting six against USC Upstate in 2011 … Stetson is now 6-11-2 all-time in ASUN Tournament play.
