Hatters, South Alabama Square Off Saturday at Edmunds Center

Stetson men's basketball opens a two-game homestand on Saturday when the Hatters welcome South Alabama to the Edmunds Center. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

The Hatters (5-6) are looking to build momentum as the non-conference season winds to a close, and they began doing so on Wednesday with an 80-72 win at SIU Edwardsville. Junior guard Divine Myles tied a career-high with 23 points and added a career-best 14 rebounds for his fifth career double-double as the Hatters won their first road game of the year.

Defense led the Hatters to the road win, as Stetson limited the Cougars to just 20 first-half points, and held SIUE to 38 percent shooting for the game.

South Alabama (6-2) is a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The Jaguars are one of the top defensive teams in the country, ranking 31^st in field-goal percentage defense (.378) and 26^th in scoring defense (61.8).

News & Notes
•Stetson and South Alabama are meeting for the third time in their history on Saturday. Both previous meetings took place in 1976, with each team losing on their home court.
•This is the first game of a two-game series between the Hatters and Jaguars. The teams will meet again next season in Mobile, Ala., hometown of Stetson's Divine Myles.
•A win on Saturday will give the Hatters their best 12-game start since the 2008-09 team also started 6-6
•Following Saturday's game the Hatters will take a much-needed 8-day break for finals before returning to the court when they host Fort Wayne on Dec. 18.
