DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University beach volleyball graduate student Vendy Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) and freshman Sara Putt (Jupiter, Fla.) have been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pair of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Making their collegiate beach debuts, Strakova and Putt opened the season with a perfect 6-0 record at the No. 1 seed.  The duo defeated teams from #18 Tulane, College of Charleston, UNCW, Eckerd, Spring Hill, and Missouri Baptist.  They won four matches in straight sets and two other matches in three sets to to stay undefeated on the season.

The Hatters (6-0) are ranked eighth nationally in this week's AVCA Beach poll and will compete at the LSU Tiger Beach Challenge this weekend in Baton Rouge, La.
