Huntsville, AL – Stetson Beach Volleyball came up just short in the ASUN Championship Final on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to North Florida.
Madeline Camp and
Julia Czurylo dropped their match on court five 13-21, 16-21, while
Grace Goudy and
Vanessa Hurnikova battled to three sets on court four but ultimately fell 21-14, 14-21, 12-15.
Youna Coens and
Caroline De Oliveira were edged out on court three 16-21, 18-21, sealing the win for the Ospreys.
Katie Camp and
Maria Ozaeta had taken the first set 21-14 on court two and were tied at 22 in the second when play was halted. On court one,
Marta Carro and
Julia Radelczuk narrowly dropped the first set 21-23 and were knotted at 16 in the second when the match concluded.
The Hatters close out their season with a strong 25-11 record, finishing just one win shy of a conference title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. While their chances for an at-large selection are slim, Stetson will await its fate during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, April 27.
