Hatters Conclude Play at Bedford Cup

Stetson men's tennis concluded play at the Bedford Cup on Sunday with a pair of losses in singles action.

Senior Graham Ball suffered a 7-6 (5), 6-4 loss to Florida Atlantic's Anthony Schohn in the B Singles semifinals. Ball, a previous Bedford Cup champion, won three singles matches over the weekend.

Newcomer John Horoz Garner capped his weekend with a 6-2, 6-2 to FAU's Stefan Burnnet in the consolation quarterfinals.

Despite Sunday's results, Stetson head coach Christophe Noblet was pleased with his team's efforts this weekend.

"We had a good showing overall," Noblet said. "Our goal was to use this tournament to implement our game style and keep forging our team identity. We did that fairly well and we have to keep building on it as the semester goes on."

Stetson's next fall team tournament is the College of Charleston Invitational, Oct. 7-9, in Charleston, S.C.
