Hatters Claim Overtime Win at FIU

Miami native B.J. Glasford scored a career-high 17 points and Angel Rivera made four free throws in the final 15 seconds as Stetson pulled out a 70-64 overtime win against Florida International, Sunday at Ocean Bank Convocation Center in Miami.

Glasford, who finished 7 of 13 from the field with six rebounds, was nearly the hero for the Hatters at the end of regulation.

The fifth-year senior scored eight points in the final 6:49 of regulation, and his 3-pointer with 25 seconds to play gave Stetson (2-0) a 56-53 lead. But FIU's Brian Beard, Jr., drained a 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds to play to send the game into overtime.

Stetson and FIU (1-1) traded leads and ties in the extra period until Divine Myles hit a turnaround jumper in the lane with 46 seconds to play for a 66-64 lead. Beard missed a three on the other end following a timeout, and Rivera sealed it from the line as the Hatters knocked off the Panthers for the third straight year.

Luke Doyle scored 13 points for Stetson, while Myles and Abayomi Iyiola each scored 11.

FIU's Eric Lockett led all scorers with 19 points.
