Hatters Primed for Saturday Showdown with SIU Edwardsville

Stetson men's basketball returns to action on Saturday when the Hatters welcome SIU Edwardsville to Edmunds Center for a 1 p.m. contest. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and can be heard locally on WSBB AM 1230 and 1490.
 
The Hatters (2-1) are looking to get back on track following Wednesday's 75-72 home loss to USF. Senior Divine Myles led all scorers with 20 points, but the Hatters couldn't overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
 
SIU Edwardsville (0-2) is seeking its first win of the season after suffering a 94-69 home loss to Valparaiso on Wednesday. Daniel Kinchen leads the Cougars in scoring at 19 points per game.
 
Tickets for Saturday's game start at just $7 for general admission and can be purchased online or at the Edmunds Center box office, or by calling (386) 738-HATS.  Stetson students, faculty and staff are admitted free with an ID.
 
News & Notes
•A win on Saturday gives the Hatters a 3-1 start to the season for the first time since 2011-12
•Divine Myles led the Hatters with 20 points in Wednesday's loss to USF, the 18th time in his career he's scored at least 20 points in a game
•The 20 points moved Myles past Derrell Boone (1966-70) and into 13th on the school career scoring list with 1,356 points
•Angel Rivera is currently leading the ASUN in assists per game (9.3) and assist-to-turnover ratio (7.0)
•Luke Doyle's three 3-pointers on Wednesday moved him into 5th place on the school's career list with 156. He is 51 shy of breaking the Stetson career record of 206.
•This is the second meeting between the teams. The Hatters defeated the Cougars, 80-72, on Dec. 7, 2016 in Edwardsville, Ill. Myles scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Hatters.
•SIU Edwardsville is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference
