Glasford Leads Hatters Past Green Bay

B.J. Glasford scored a career-high 24 points to lead Stetson to an 83-71 win over Green Bay, Monday at Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.

Glasford, a senior, was 11 of 17 from the field, and added a career-high six assists, and five rebounds to his stat line to help the Hatters (5-3) win their third road game of the season.

Take away a cold spell at the end of the second half and this game was a total rout. Stetson led 75-47 on a Glasford jumper with 8:58 to play, but went more than five minutes without a basket as the Phoenix (2-3) climbed back into the game.

The Hatters, who led 51-31 at halftime, never allowed Green Bay to get any closer than 10 points down the stretch as they won for the third time in the last four games.

Stetson scorched the nets from beginning to end, shooting 58 percent in the first half and 48 percent for the game. The Hatters were 10 of 24 from beyond the arc and out-rebounded Green Bay, 44-35.

Glasford wasn't the only Hatter to enjoy a strong night. Freshman Kenny Aninye came off the bench to score 13 points, while Luke Doyle had 11 and Divine Myles had 10 to go with career highs of 11 rebounds and five steals, while also adding five assists.

The Hatters return to the court when they host Campbell, 7 p.m., Thursday at Edmunds Center.
