Charleston Southern Hands Hatters a 5-2 Loss

DeLAND—Stetson women's tennis was defeated on Saturday afternoon by Charleston Southern at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Buccaneers won, 5-2.

Charleston Southern (4-1) opened play by winning two of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. Stetson's No. 2 duo of Sophia Ferding and Lucie Renault won by a score of 6-3, but the Hatters lost close matches in the other two positions.

The Hatters (0-5) also struggled during singles play. Arijana Korac at No. 1 and Renault at No. 3 were the only winner for Stetson. Korac won 6-3, 6-4 while Renault earned a three-set win by scores of 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3).

The Hatters next face Iowa State, 10 a.m., Sunday in St. Augustine.
