Hatters Bounce Back for a 4-1 Win Over New Mexico

Tavares, Fla. -- After a hard-fought 3-2 setback to Georgia State earlier in the day, Stetson bounced back with a strong 4-1 victory over New Mexico Saturday afternoon in the final match of the Stetson Beach Invitational at Hickory Point Beach.

The Hatters finished the weekend with a 3-1 record to improve to 5-8 on the season.

Stetson won at the 1, 2, 3 and 5 seeds against the Lobos (5-8). Both Kristin Lind and Darby Dunn at the 2 seed and Samantha Harris and Maggie Skjelbred at the 1 seed finished on the winning side of close sets, reversing a team trend from earlier in the day. Emily Carroll and Kaylee Anderson went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend.

The Hatters will compete at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C. next weekend against four Top 10 opponents.
